We were approached by Public: Architecture + Design Communication and Science World Vancouver to collaborate with them in creating multiple prototype designs for their outdoor housing exhibit in which designers were invited to create innovative interpretations of the word "Housing". We consulted with both clients regularly to ensure we were on the right track and undertook the process of materials sourcing, designing, testing and experimenting with various iterations until we were able to establish a working set of prototypes for mass production. Each polycarbonate pole has a large spring inset in the bottom so that the public can walk or run through the exhibit and cause them to bend, sway and bounce as they navigate their way through the maze of dancing structures.
